Yami woke up with an eerie feeling running through her that intensified when she noticed that she was in bed alone. After reaching for her cellphone, she checked the time and realized that it was almost two in the morning.

With no calls or texts from Miego, she began to panic because that wasn't like him, especially since he had only planned to be gone for a few hours. Here it was almost two in the morning and he wasn't home and hadn't tried to contact her.

The first thing she did was try his phone. It went straight to voicemail, so she tried again and got the same thing. Not knowing what else to do, she climbed out of bed and searched the house, praying that this was one of the nights where he couldn't sleep and was in his studio.

She knew before she even pushed the door open and found it empty that he wasn't in there, but she had to try anyway. Her next move was to inspect the rest of their apartment, which was dark and quiet. After sticking her head in Ray’s door, where she found her daughter balled up in the center of the bed with her thumb in her mouth, Yami made her way to the living room. No Miego, and no sign that he had been there. Everything was just as she left it when she finally decided to call it a night.

Just that quickly, her pulse was racing and her heart rate increased to a quicker steady pace that had her feeling short of breath. Not knowing what else to do, she dialed Train, hoping that he had some answers. Maybe Miego had crashed there for whatever reason. She’d be pissed if that were the case, but relieved that he was okay.

“Yeah.”

Train’s voice was groggy and heavy, so she knew that she had just woke him up.

“Hey, sorry to wake you, but is Miego with you?”

“What do you mean with me, he’s not there?”

“No, he's not.”

“Did he head out for something?”

Train was trying to get his head together, knowing that they had left each other hours ago and Miego was heading home. He knew him well enough to know that he wasn't checking for anybody else, so if he wasn't home with Yami, then something wasn't right.

“No, he hasn't been here since he left earlier to meet you. I waited up for him, but he didn't show up, so I went to sleep. I just woke up and he’s still not here.”

“Fuck, you called him?”

“Yes, it went straight to voicemail and I haven't talked to him at all.”

“Give me like an hour and I’ll be there. Don't go anywhere and don't do anything. Just wait for me.”

“Train, what’s wrong? Did something happen tonight?”

“Nah, he’s good. Don't stress. Just chill until I get there, aight?”

“Okay.”

Yami ended the call, and after she did, she tired Miego again. Still nothing. After talking to Train, her anxiety was worse. If Train didn't know where he was, then something really had to be wrong.
